9/11: Speak

9/11
does not go away. It is with us on a daily basis. It is the emotional
rationale for a long litany of radical changes in US policy:
- a supposed "War
on Terrorism"
- actual wars in
Iraq and Afghanistan
- possible future
wars against a supposed "axis of evil"
- condoning torture
and indefinite detention without any kind of due process
- scuttling the
Geneva conventions
- the sacrifice
of civil liberties at home
If 9/11 "changed
everything," as George W. Bush has said, then it is extremely important
that we "get it right." What really happened that day? The
administration made a rush to judgment, immediately destroyed much
of the evidence, stamped much of the remaining evidence "Secret,"
and implied that critics were "with the terrorists."
If all you know is what you have read in the papers or seen on the TV
News, you are not fully informed, and you are quite possibly misinformed.
We believe you have also been intentionally DIS-informed.
A "9/11 Truth
Movement," inspired initially by families of 9/11 victims, has
amassed a significant amount of research that casts doubt on the official
story line, but many people have never heard this or thought through
the implications. The Bush administration and the compliant media want
this issue to go away, so any attempt to discuss or speak out on this
issue is dismissed as a "conspiracy theory." But keep in mind
that even the official story of 9/11 is a rather bizarre conspiracy
theory.

High Speed Ejection from WTC1

Faster than Gravity (Removed)
I removed this video because when I did additional runs at different resolutions, I always got extreme accelerations, but not the same amounts in the same places. This made me skeptical of the procedure. Finding accelerations from position data involves double
numerical differentiation, a process that can amplify "noise" in the data. The
raw data in this
analysis is the inherently noisy positional measurement of cloudy
material, and the conclusions were based on the short term variations in the acceleration.
This raises the likelihood
that the extreme accelerations are artifacts. The WTC7 measurements (above) do not suffer the same defect because (1) they are measuring
the motion of a more definite point of solid material, and (2) the conclusions are based on
long term average acceleration.

High Speed Ejection from WTC1--Further Analysis
Further analysis of the data in the original video of this name reveals the location in WTC1 where the ejected object originated: about the 82nd floor. Under even the most liberal assumptions, the building was falling at that point at only half the speed of ejection of the object that is being tracked.
Freefall Acceleration of WTC7
Video analysis, using Physics Tool Kit software, of the uniformly
accelerated
collapse of Building 7 of the World Trade Center
from a distant vantage
point to the NW. (This replaces two earlier
videos of a similar nature.)
This revision is based on a higher resolution
copy of the
video. The inescapable
conclusion that the building underwent demolition is discussed.
North Tower Exploding
This is an narration of a video clip of the North tower which focuses on explosive
ejections
progressing in waves down the faces of the building. Among other things
it is
a response
to theories that postulate causes for the collapse that ignore
the
evidence
that
can
be
easily seen by anyone in the video footage itself. Observation
is the foundation of science.

WTC7 in Freefall
The previous analysis of the freefall acceleration was criticized (legitimately) for using a
horizontal
calibration
measurement for analyzing purely vertical motion. Any distortion or stretching of
the video could
throw off the measurement. In this new video, the calibration
utilizes NIST's
data
for the heights of
the roofline and the 29th floor to do a vertical
calibration. The
result is a measurement even closer
to idealized freefall: 9.88 m/s^2.

WTC7: NIST Finally Admits Freefall (Part I) New
In its draft report, released in August 2008, NIST attempted to cover up evidence that WTC7 fell at freefall, but the coverup was transparent. In its final report, released in November 2008, NIST finally acknowledged freefall, but couched it in a bizarre framework that continues to deny its clear significance. This illuminating video displays the brazenness of the NIST WTC7 coverup. John Gross, one of the lead structural engineers for the NIST investigation, who figures in this video, has established a reputation for lying and evading evidence. (Another example of John Gross' evasive interaction with questioners on other a different key piece of evidence.)
WTC7: NIST Finally Admits Freefall (Part II) New
This is not the "Part II" I had originally envisioned. That will have to wait for Part III. In following up on the erroneous measurement described by John Gross in Part I, I decided to look more carefully at the measurement and find the video frame NIST claims marks the beginning of the collapse. What I found is that there is no motion of the roofline for at least 20-30 video frames after the point identified by John Gross. In other words, the measurement is a complete fabrication with the goal of producing a "measurement" to agree with the result predicted by NIST's collapse model. This result is sufficiently significant to merit its own video.

WTC7: NIST Finally Admits Freefall (Part III) New
Part III fully explores the implications of NIST's admission that freefall occurred and critiques the foundations of their "investigation." In the end it calls for a new, independent, fully empowered, and open investigation.
Downward Acceleration of the North Tower New
The roofline of WTC1 (The North Tower) begins dropping with sudden onset and accelerates uniformly downward at about 64% of the acceleration of gravity (g) until it disappears into the dust. This means it is meeting resistance equal to about 36% of its weight. The implication of this, however, is that the force it is exerting on the lower section of the building is also only 36% of the weight of the falling section. This is much less than the force it would exert if it were at rest. The acceleration data thus prove that the falling top section of the building cannot be responsible for the destruction of the lower section of the building.
[I want to acknowledge the work of Graeme MacQueen and Tony Szamboti who have been engaged in similar measurements by other means and have reached similar conclusions.]
